POSITION DESCRIPTION

_Position Title: Sales Associate – Premium Outlet Coordinator
Payroll: Part Time Non-Exempt; Hourly

BASIC FUNCTION

Baker|McGuire is one of the oldest and largest multi-line showrooms in the United States. Featuring outstanding representation of transitional, formal, and contemporary furniture.

The Sales Associate – Premium Outlet Coordinator has the primary responsibility to maximize sales volume by spearheading our Premium Outlet location through ongoing product inventory changes and selling As-is and discontinued products. Additionally, growing existing business, developing new business, and providing the best possible sales service while enhancing Baker Interiors Group’s mission to offer the highest quality and service standards in the industry. The candidate will bring their industry knowledge, passion for sales, experience, existing industry relationships and networking abilities to the role to build upon a business foundation that has been established by the showroom and all premium outlet locations nationwide.

Candidate will work with distribution manager and showroom inventory coordinator to receive inventory, insure accuracy of paperwork, and correct if necessary. Incoming product will be tagged with tags generated by the inventory control specialist, following Baker placement standards. Quotes will be entered into the CPQ system and payments processed via the credit card terminal. Records of incoming and outgoing product (paperwork sign off) will be maintained.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

· Experience in initiating, cultivating, and sustaining strong mutually beneficial relationships with the Design community in surrounding territories. Researching interior design firms, contacts and opportunities that would be appropriate for our product assortment. Instagram, lead gathering and looking for new opportunities.

· Superior written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills.

· Exhibit an outgoing, positive demeanor and be comfortable presenting to groups and individually. Maintain client relationships and grow sales with accounts on a yearly basis.

· Open new accounts in line with the Showroom manager and VP of Showrooms.

· Educate customers on website tools.

· Monitor all open orders from accurate placement to delivery. Include all necessary information on the purchase order (i.e. customer information, delivery information, product options, pricing, return policies etc.)

· Once the product is invoiced, shipped, contact customers to ensure the product and the service are acceptable.

Order Entry

· Enter all orders into the system within 24 hours of receipt of the deposit or the purchase order (for net 30 accounts). Include all necessary information on the purchase order (i.e. customer information, delivery information, product options, pricing, etc.)

· Provide an adequate explanation to the customer for all denials of special requests on product and/or delivery dates.

· Gain deep understanding of the order system, web site and other sales tools. Partner with RACs, and inventory and logistic coordinators regarding auditing incoming inventory.

· Track receipt by factory of COM (customer’s own material) fabric, finish samples or any other materials required for completion of order.

· Act as liaison for any repair technicians and Freight/shipping questions for customers.

Customer Service

· Check factory acknowledgments and verify that the product has been ordered correctly. Report to the Customer Service Associate any incorrect acknowledgment with corrections in writing.

· Track receipt by factory of COM (customer’s own material) fabric, finish samples or any other materials required for completion of order.

· Monitor all open orders from placement to delivery.

· Call customers periodically with updated information regarding status of the order.

· Once the product is shipped, contact customers to ensure the product and the service are acceptable.

· Alert customers as directed by management 30 days before product arrives at the distribution center that a remaining balance invoice will be sent. Apprise Net 30 customers when product arrives at distribution center and notify that shipment to the local receiver will occur shortly.

· Handle all customer complaints and partner with RAC and management as needed.

· Monitor progress of customer complaint resolutions and communicate updates to customers; offer additional assistance to Customer Service when appropriate.

Customer Development

· Participate in design-oriented events to ensure visibility and contact with current and potential customers.

· Maintain updated customer information including contact data, special interests, and information regarding current and upcoming Showroom events and sales.

· Maintain updated calendar of customer special dates (events, installations, publications, etc.).

· Identify and implement ways to prospect new customers and increase conversion of turns to personal accounts.

Premium Outlet/Showroom Responsibilities

· Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and in a timely fashion (5 minutes or less).

· Create and maintain quotations for customers who come into the Showroom or who call for information. Inform of price increases, discontinued, or extended lead times.

· Follow up with open quotes. Once closed, engage with a thank you note or phone call as deemed appropriate with management.

· Always maintain professional courtesy with associates and customers.

· Manage vision of Interior Design team, and self in the display maintenance of the showroom to ensure optimum showroom appearance: including proper tagging with pricing, product information when applicable, promotions, discounts, and final sale messaging as directed by management.

· Assist other Sales Associates as necessary or as directed by the Showroom Manager in the showroom and Premium Outlet location.

· Partner with Showroom Sales associates and manager often for customer best interest.

· Maintain security of the site-open and close, arm security system. Turn off lights when leaving. Lower blinds. Report any systems issues (A/C, electrical, network, phone, building issues) promptly to the showroom manager.

Product Knowledge

· Maintain knowledge of all vendor products, pricing, options, finishes, details, etc.

· Maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of all products, pricing and local competition.

· Assist in the maintenance of samples, tear sheets and resource files. Partner with product training and mentoring of new Sales Associates.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:

Reports to the Showroom Manager

Organizational relationships:

Daily contact with all members of the Showroom staff
Daily contact with customers and customers’ staff
Daily contact with vendors and vendor staff
Frequent contact with receivers and distribution facilities
Occasional contact with sales and support staff at other BKT Showrooms and Stores, Executive Office, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Candidate will possess previous high-end sales/customer experience, preferably in the furniture/design industry. Basic knowledge of the history of furniture design (periods, styles, designers, etc.) is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Standing; Some furniture movement may be required

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
